What We Do

Maintenance Services We Offer

Our FAA-certified mechanics are equipped to handle a full range of general aviation maintenance requirements for piston aircraft.

Annual Inspections

The FAA-required annual airworthiness inspection, performed and approved for return to service in-house by Alan Davis, who holds Inspection Authorization (14 CFR 43.7). We inspect thoroughly and work with you to clear any squawks before signing the aircraft off.

100-Hour Inspections

Required for aircraft carrying persons for hire, and for flight instruction for hire when the operator provides the aircraft (14 CFR 91.409(b)). The scope matches an annual. CFTAR keeps training and charter aircraft on schedule.

Engine Overhauls and Repairs

Top overhauls, cylinder work, engine replacement, and engine troubleshooting. We work on Lycoming and Continental piston engines common in general aviation aircraft.

Avionics Installations

Upgrade your panel with modern avionics. GPS/COM installs, ADS-B compliance, transponder upgrades, intercom systems, and ELT replacements.

Airframe Repairs

Corrosion treatment, skin repairs, control surface work, and landing gear service. We address airframe issues with attention to manufacturer specifications and FAA requirements.

Propeller Service

Prop inspections, static balancing, and coordination with certified prop shops for overhauls or repairs following a prop strike.

Unscheduled Squawks

Got a write-up after a flight? Our mechanics troubleshoot and resolve unscheduled maintenance issues to get you back in the air quickly and safely.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Buying an aircraft? We provide thorough pre-purchase inspections to help you understand the true condition of a prospective purchase before you commit.

Our Credentials

FAA-Certified, Experience-Backed

CFTAR's maintenance operation is led by Alan Davis, an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic with Inspection Authorization and over 40 years of aviation experience. The IA means annuals are signed off in-house rather than sent out. Every aircraft that goes through our shop is handled by a mechanic who also flies, so we bring a pilot's perspective to every inspection and repair.
